The beauty and uniqueness of East Oak Lane is based largely on its stately architecture, mature trees, and abundance of green space. The various committees of OLCAA exist to support, encourage and educate East Oak Lane neighbors to value and respect our collective treasures.

The Neighborhood Transformation Initiative of the Mayor's Office has selected our East Oak Lane neighborhood for improvement and revitalization. They have asked our organization, OLCAA, to partner with them in targeting homes and businesses that are in violation of city codes and ordinances, or who are disrupting the quality of life for neighborhood residents.

We are asking you, as a caring responsible member of this community, to address issues that concern us all by taking the time to learn the codes and ordinances in order to insure our collective adherence. We are seeking your contribution to preserving the rich character of our neighborhood. You can contribute the following ways:

  • Volunteering to appear before zoning board hearings on neighborhood issues on an ad hoc basis when there are well-organized reasons for support and/or dissent of use variance applications.
  • Encouraging other neighborhood residents to participate in petitions, phone campaigns and zoning board hearings on issues that impact neighborhood's rich character.
  • Adherence to housing and zoning issues as they impact our quality of life such as, enhancing the neighborhood, property values, maintaining the character and architectural integrity of our homes.
